01 / THE BUILD

Start underneath the software.

Before a development or AI environment can do interesting work, its hardware and operating system need a reliable foundation. ZedAIDev begins with Ubuntu Server and separate system and data drives.

02 / THE BUILD

Storage mode matters.

The build notes record a change to AHCI so the drives could be used independently. After that change, the machine successfully booted into Ubuntu Server.

03 / THE BUILD

A milestone, not a finished AI stack.

The next checks are drive visibility, mounts, and failed services. The project is still in setup; a successful operating-system boot does not by itself mean the intended AI and development tools are installed.

THE TAKEAWAYSometimes the next step in an AI project is understanding the storage controller.

STILL CURIOUS

What’s next?

Verify the drive layout, finish the base setup, and then choose the development and AI workloads.
